My Longboard

Hey!
Well, i've just realized I lacked a post, and didn't realize it. Anyhow, Christmas is superb, as mentioned in another post of mine. But this post won't talk about Christmas particularly. It will be about my Christmas present. I got a surfboard. I used to surf with short boards (6,0 ft), which usually have the characteristics of a more radical surf. It is really nice, however, one has to always be going to the beach, and practicing in order to keep the experience. Obviously if I went to the beach, and stayed for about 15 days, I would be back on top. However, as it is rare for me to go to the beach, and mainly in these long periods of time, I've decided to begin a new path in my surfing life. My father owns a longboard, in which I learned how to surf. Over these years I have also very much discovered how to enjoy the longboard style, and now a days, It is my favorite. So I've started longboarding again. I think it is a style in which the manuvers are much more aprecciative(obviously thats MY opinion) . The manuvers are much more classical. Some examples are the Hang Five, or Hang Ten, where the surfer goes to the nose of the board, with the five or then fingers of the feet, and stay there. The cuts in longboarding are much lighter, and round, which again, makes it much more classical. I got given a 9,4 feet single fin , entierley yellow. It is beautiful. At the moment, I am looking at it hung on my bedrrom wall. I took it to Juquehy beach together with my father, and cousin, to test it. The waves didn't help so much, but as it is a very large surfboard, it can easily go in any wave, and you are able to feel it already. As it is single fin, it is a little harder to manuever than a tri fin, as my dad's longboard, but at the same time, the fin is removable, which makes it much easier for transportation, and conservation. There is a movie named Singlefin:yellow, which by the way is ver good. I will put some photos of the movies board, for y'all to have an idea of how it is. The only difference is that the fin is removable, and it dosn't have the two dark black lines accompaning the stringer in the middle.
Happy new year, cause most probably the next time i write a pos will be in 2010.
at the moment vacaions are great.
Let's make an everlasting vacation, shall we?
Best regards to all
se ya.

Reading

I am have been reading Papillon, a very good book. The author is named Henri Charriére, a french lad. Papillon in french, means butterfly, and the author, used to be nicknamed papillon, for he had a butterfly tattoed to his chest. The book is real, and papillon tells his story through full details. It starts when he is convicted for a murder he swears he didn't commit. He admits have commited other murders, however, not that one. He is first sent to a prison in France, where he goes to the solitaire, even though he didn't do anything, and remains there for 45 days. After he gets out, the director of the prison curses him, beats him, and asks him: " Anything you want to say now, Papillon?", and as a man of dignity, he replies " I now want to spit at your face. The only reason i don't, is because i would get my spit dirty." So he is beaten up, neraly to death and then sent to the solitaire again. In the middle of the trips between solitaire-directors office, he meets Dega, a person who would later be one of his best friends. The jury decides to convict him forever, and then he is sent to French Guinea. After a good planning, he flees, and from the french guinea, he reaches colombia, in a little boat. However, he has to go to land, and the people from colombia, capture him. He then is sent back to French Guinea, however, this time, he goes to the devils island, and is sent to a small island from there, where he spends two years of reclusion. He mentioned speaking to someone four times in two years. When he goes back to the salvation islands, he meets Dega, Galgani, Maturette, and other friends. He trys to flee once more, and the escape would have worked if it wasn't for a man who tattle taled them the day before the escape. He then was convicted for eight years in reclusion, which were diminished to one year and a half, for he risked his life with the sharks, to save one of the guards daughters. He is now back to the salvation islands again, and wants to escape, however, the commander of the prison asked him to try in at least a month, for in a month he will be retired. So Papillon, is waiting for another chance. If you have the chance, read it, for it is an excellent book.

3D slime

What is 3d slime?? Well, that is one of the most usual questions asked by people with no notion of light online games, that do not take much time to begin, or people that dislike 2d games. For those that do not know, 3d slime, is an online game, in which one can play many 2d games (in fact there is one 3d game), about sports. The games include Volleyball 1p ( one player), Volleyball 2p ( two players), Flying Voleyball 1p, Power Volleyball, soccer, basketball, cricket, bowling, water polo, dodgeball, and boxing. These last ones mentioned all are of two players. The games are divided into 1, 2, 4, and 8 minutes. These are when one is playing with someone else. However, when playing solo, one goes for the world cup. In soccer, for example, the world cup includes mostly all the teams in the world. The person playing on the left side of the keyboard plays with the a, w, d, s keys, while the person playing in the right of the keyboard uses the arrow keys. There exists a type of "game" called training day, which is very usefull for starters, for as the name implies, it introduces the person to the games. There are highscores, and if one is good enough, they are ranked there, like our friend Kevin Yoon. In my experience, 3d slime is a ver good option for when someone does not know what to do. It is very distracting, and educative, for the colors of the flags, are implied in the little guy's color. I recomend it to all people.

Kart

My comrades and I recentely went Go Karting. Extremeley interesting it was. The Flores Brothers, Sebastian, and Santiago used to go kart a lot when younger. Thy used to have a kart each, so as thought previously, Santiago went first place, and Sebastian second. In third, the German origined Michael Isensee, and in fourth my pal André Allemann. Fifth place, was I (and I will furtherley explain why), and sixth Kevin. In seventh André Teixeira, and eigth Lucas. Finally, Paulo Jordão, an old bud we met there, was the ninth.

This sport is very nice for people who enjoy adrenaline, and speed. The only problem is that there is little time for too much money, so it is rare that we go. Now, I will explain why I was fifth(not first, as planned). The race began, and I began in fourth. I was going to have a closed turn, when Sebastian closed me. the impact was so hard, that it made André Allemann, which was behind me to bash under me. We got stuck for one and a half laps. i was in last, so it was theoretically good. Four position over one and a half lap is a good result.

For the people who want top Kart, the KartIn is a good place to go. HAVE A GOOD RACE!!!

Christmas

I know it is kind of early to talk about christmas, however, as is is one of the things I most enjoy, it is today's post's subject. My family holds a tradition, of always picking real trees for christmas, and for me, this is one of the most important part of Christmas. The picking of the tree, and the taking it home to put on the lights, while listening to christmas music by louis armstrong, or nat kingcole, is one of the best parts of christmas. Christmas has different meanings to different people, and even so, everyone worships it. For children, the word that comes in bold is presents, even though many have relegious teachings in mind. For relegious people, it is the coming of Jesus Christ to our world, or the begining of eternal salvation. In my past experiences, I have looked at Christmas, when going through difficulties, and for help, for it has always helped me. It is when the whole family comes together, and everybody is joined together, as though nothing that could restrain the the communication of family members exists. When I think about Christmas, the word Unite is what is in bold.Every year, my entire family comes together at my grandmothers house on the 24th to celebrate Christmas. Last year, Christmas was very rainy, with trees swaying, and winds blowing at very high speeds out of my grandmothers house. Suddenley, we all heard a very loud CRACK, as a massive tree landed on my aunt's car. After that, the only noise heard on top of the rain was the car's siren. the talking seased, as my oldest cousin, my son's aunt ran into the night with an umbrella to see what had happened. When he came back, he said the car was totally smashed, and had no chance of working again. My aunt, obviously was extremeley sad, however, the whole family began to support her, and even though it was a horrible catastrophe, it was kind of an "ice breaker", because the family, was behaving like a family should behave. It was Christmas.

Squash

Something I enjoy a lot is to play squash. I have olayed for abou 6 months already, and really like it. The game consists in hitting the ball on the wall so that the oponent has to get it. However, it is not as simple as it seems. Fourof the most common squash techiniques are the:

  • Boast: When one hits the ball on his side wall, so that it touches the opposite front wall with small force and falls. It is very effective when the ball bounces of your ouside wall.

  • Paralell: As the name implies, it is when one hits the ball and it comes back paralell to the wall. Very effective when the opponent is located on the oher side of the court.

  • Cross: When the person hits the ball on the front wall, and it bounces of to the end of the other side wall. Very effective when someone send one a drop shot. The person will have no time to come back.

  • Drop shot: When someone lightly touches the ball so that it hits the very low in the front wall. The person will have no time to come back. Ver effective when someone is located at the front of the back of the court. It will be hard for the person to run and get the ball in time.

Even though being physically fit counts a lot in this game, mental fitness also. One has to be able to wait for the ball to come, and not run to it. The right timing in the ball has to be reached for each technique to be performed correctly, and the person has to be constantly concentrated, for one little loss of concentration could imply in a point to the opponent.

Pets

Hi again! I know its been long since my last post, and I apologize for that...Anyhow, today, I am going to talk about pets. Most of the people like to have pets. The most common are dogs, for they are stereotyped to be the mans best friend, etc, etc... I say stereotyped because they also say that some pets, lets say cats, for example, have a fame to be selfish, and only strive for the food they get from the owners. By having 4 dogs, 2 cats, and even a turtle, I can say that this statement is not true. Yes, dogs are very friendly and playfull. We can even compare them to cats by saying they are extroverted compared to the introverred cats. However, cats can be affeccionate also. I have realized that the cats, unlike the dogs, dislike too much movement of people, and an enviroment which is constantly changing. I think dogs are very playfull indeed, and they are good company, as cats also are. Both pets are excellent, each one having their best moments. I am focusing on these two comparisons because recenteley, a friend of mine, was telling me how cats are useless, and selfish, and how dogs are te opposite. his argument was that dogs have a purpose, protect the household. however, I have realized that many of the dos now a days do nothing, or dont have the capacity to do so, for they are small, and "useless" as my friend stated. They have the same purpose as cats, to entertain their owners, and then it goes to a question of who the person likes most, for now they have the same use.

So before talking nonsense withut knowing, find out for yourself.

Airplanes

I love airplanes, mainly from the second woorld war. My favorites are the F4U Corsair, and the Spitfire. I've been recentley in the coolest aircraft museum i've seen. It is nin Germany in a city called Speyer in theTechnikmuseum. IT IS AWSOME!!! I like flying airplane models in a place called Sant'ana, in the north part of São Paulo. There, they fly a different kind of airplane model. It is called U-Control. The idea is that the airplane is held by 2 cables, and these two connect the flap, and the place you hold, so when you put it up, the airplane goes up, and vice versa. It is extremeley interesting. I constructed my airplane out of a model kit. It takes a long time....My cousin recenteley gave me a remote controlled aircraft, and I am learning how to fly it, the instructor is in Monte Verde, a small nice town in Minas Gerais. So I only practice when I travel there. Anyways, it is really nice.

What to eat??

I like eating basically everything :-) . However, here are my favorites:
Breakfast: A good bowl of cereal, a glass of milk, and on weekeneds, some rare times, a leftover pizza.

Lunch: I'm very fond of mostly all foods, as i mentioned before, however, at the present moment, i can think of these foods: Feijoada, German food(in general), CHURRASCO!!!!, Strognoff together with some "palha" chips, and some rice. I love eating a good well made salad. Pastel, Fish, etc.

Dinner: PIZZA, Sandwich's, depending on the wather fondue, and all the food in thw world (which ive tried until now...) except for a certain fish:aliche...it's too strong.

Now i'm in the mood of having a good bowl of Nescau Balls, or Hunny nuts. We'll see what there is in the kitchen!

Sailing last weekened...

Well, I was sailing last weekened, as I always do, and I love to..... The wind was extremley strong, so i was sailing very fast. Just when i was getting close to the club's(YCSA) ramp, my mast broke in half, and in consequence, my sail tore...I got really mad, for it was my favorite sail, and I will have to wait before sailing again. I'm not sure if I can mend it, so this weekened, no sailing...Anyhow, this is going to give me a chance to practice more on my guitar song. I am learning how to play Mary Had a Little Lamb- Stevie Ray Vaugn(probably written incorrectly...). It is a great song to listen, and to play if yo like blues.
P.S: The pcture is not mine, however the exact same thing happened with the same type of boat. Andy Mckee, and Don Ross

I downloaded a discography of Andy Mckee, and a CD of him playing with Don Ross. I loved this type of music, for it is a different nd relaxing. I found the musics Drifting, Andy Mckee // and Ebon Coast, Andy Mckee, and Don Ross the best. I recomend this type of music for anyone one who enjoys instrumental guitar music. The tuning i think is different, for Mckee slaps his guitar to make up the base, and by doing that, his hands have to be close to the body, so I belieave it is a different tunning. Anyhow, go to Youtube, and search for one of these musics.
SEE YOU!!!

Family Guy

Today, I watched various episodes of the T.V Series Family Guy. I find it extremeley entertaining, and funny. Many people dislike this T.V show, and claim that people who watch them are drug addicts, or people who do not kow how to change the T.V chanel....Absurd... It is obvious than one is not going to show the T.V series to a todler, or even a 10 yeard old child, for it is not understandable. For one to be able to watch Family Guy, the person needs to know a lot of culture, and political views, for they make parodys about these, and if one osn't know about the real happenings, it is not fun to watch it.
Here are some links to some good short parts of episodes of Family Guy:
