Squash

Something I enjoy a lot is to play squash. I have olayed for abou 6 months already, and really like it. The game consists in hitting the ball on the wall so that the oponent has to get it. However, it is not as simple as it seems. Fourof the most common squash techiniques are the:

  • Boast: When one hits the ball on his side wall, so that it touches the opposite front wall with small force and falls. It is very effective when the ball bounces of your ouside wall.

  • Paralell: As the name implies, it is when one hits the ball and it comes back paralell to the wall. Very effective when the opponent is located on the oher side of the court.

  • Cross: When the person hits the ball on the front wall, and it bounces of to the end of the other side wall. Very effective when someone send one a drop shot. The person will have no time to come back.

  • Drop shot: When someone lightly touches the ball so that it hits the very low in the front wall. The person will have no time to come back. Ver effective when someone is located at the front of the back of the court. It will be hard for the person to run and get the ball in time.

Even though being physically fit counts a lot in this game, mental fitness also. One has to be able to wait for the ball to come, and not run to it. The right timing in the ball has to be reached for each technique to be performed correctly, and the person has to be constantly concentrated, for one little loss of concentration could imply in a point to the opponent.

Pets

Hi again! I know its been long since my last post, and I apologize for that...Anyhow, today, I am going to talk about pets. Most of the people like to have pets. The most common are dogs, for they are stereotyped to be the mans best friend, etc, etc... I say stereotyped because they also say that some pets, lets say cats, for example, have a fame to be selfish, and only strive for the food they get from the owners. By having 4 dogs, 2 cats, and even a turtle, I can say that this statement is not true. Yes, dogs are very friendly and playfull. We can even compare them to cats by saying they are extroverted compared to the introverred cats. However, cats can be affeccionate also. I have realized that the cats, unlike the dogs, dislike too much movement of people, and an enviroment which is constantly changing. I think dogs are very playfull indeed, and they are good company, as cats also are. Both pets are excellent, each one having their best moments. I am focusing on these two comparisons because recenteley, a friend of mine, was telling me how cats are useless, and selfish, and how dogs are te opposite. his argument was that dogs have a purpose, protect the household. however, I have realized that many of the dos now a days do nothing, or dont have the capacity to do so, for they are small, and "useless" as my friend stated. They have the same purpose as cats, to entertain their owners, and then it goes to a question of who the person likes most, for now they have the same use.

So before talking nonsense withut knowing, find out for yourself.
